👋 Overview
ColorFun Kids is a coloring app designed for children ages 2–10. We built it with one guiding principle: your family's data stays on your device. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or transmit personal information. This policy explains exactly what is and is not collected, and how we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable privacy laws.
📋 Information We Collect
Child profile data (stored locally on your device only)
- Child's first name or nickname (entered by a parent)
- Child's age (entered by a parent)
- Chosen avatar emoji and color
- Coloring progress: pages completed, stars earned, daily streaks, time spent
- Saved artwork images
All of this information lives exclusively in the app's local database on your device (Apple SwiftData). It is never uploaded to any server, shared with any third party, or accessible to us.
Payment information
If you purchase a ColorFun Kids Premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, store, or have access to your payment card details, Apple ID, or billing address. Apple's privacy policy governs that data: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Notification tokens
If you enable daily coloring reminders, the app schedules local notifications directly on your device using iOS. No notification token is sent to any external server.
🚫 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Names, email addresses, or contact information from children
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs (IDFA), or fingerprints
- Location data (GPS or IP-based)
- Cookies or cross-app tracking data
- Photos, contacts, or any other data from your device outside the app
- Analytics or crash-reporting telemetry sent to third parties
- Behavioural or interest-based advertising data
ColorFun Kids contains no advertising networks and no third-party analytics SDKs.
👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ColorFun Kids is directed to children under 13. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- No personal information is collected from children. Child profiles are set up by a parent and stored only on the family's device.
- Parental controls are built in. Access to the Parent Dashboard, sharing artwork, and subscription management are all protected by a parent-only PIN gate.
- No third-party data sharing. We do not share any child data with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other third party.
- No behavioural advertising. The app contains no ads of any kind.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us immediately at axesalon@hotmail.ca and we will address it promptly.
🖼️ Artwork Sharing
Children can colour pages and the app can export finished artwork as an image. Sharing is always initiated by a parent (protected by the parental PIN gate) and uses the standard iOS share sheet. We have no involvement in where a parent chooses to share an image — that is governed by the destination app's own privacy policy.
When artwork is saved to the device's Photo Library, iOS prompts for explicit permission. The app requests Add Photos access only — it cannot read existing photos.
🔐 Data Security
All app data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework, which benefits from the iOS sandbox and device encryption. The Parent Dashboard PIN is stored in the iOS Keychain, which is hardware-encrypted on all modern iPhones and iPads. We cannot access any of this data remotely because no data leaves the device.
🗑️ Deleting Your Data
To delete all data associated with ColorFun Kids — including all child profiles, progress, and saved artwork — simply delete the app from your device. iOS will remove all associated data. There is no account to deactivate and no server-side data to request deletion of.
Individual child profiles can also be deleted from within the Parent Dashboard at any time.
🔗 Third-Party Services
ColorFun Kids integrates with the following Apple platform services only:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — for processing Premium subscriptions. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Push Notification Service (local only) — daily reminders are scheduled on-device; no data passes through Apple's servers.
- Apple Photos — when saving artwork to the Camera Roll, accessed via Apple's standard PHPhotoLibrary API.
No other third-party SDKs, frameworks, or services are included in the app.
📱 Device Permissions
The app may request the following iOS permissions:
- Add to Photos Library — to save finished artwork. Read access is never requested.
- Notifications — for optional daily coloring reminders. Can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings.
🌍 International Users
ColorFun Kids is available internationally through the Apple App Store. Because we store no data on servers, there is no cross-border data transfer. All data remains on your device in your country.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom: no personal data is processed by us, so GDPR obligations regarding data controllers do not apply to ColorFun Kids beyond Apple's own processing described above.
📝 Changes to This Policy
If we materially change this Privacy Policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, notify users via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
