Summary
Mina is a single-player building toy that works entirely on your device. It has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of its own. We — Ghassan Jaam, the developer of Mina — do not receive, store, or have access to anything you build or do inside the app.
If you never turn on iCloud, Mina never sends a single byte off your device.
What we collect
Nothing. Specifically, Mina does not:
- Ask you to create an account or sign in
- Collect your name, email address, or any contact information
- Use any analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software development kit (SDK)
- Track you across other apps or websites
- Show ads
- Contain any in-app purchases or payment processing
- Make network requests to any server operated by us or by a third party
There is no data collection questionnaire to interpret here: the app has no networking code that could collect anything, beyond the iCloud sync described below, which Apple handles on your behalf and which we cannot read.
Where your towns live
Every town you build is saved automatically as a file inside Mina's own private storage
area on your device (technically, the app's Documents directory), along with a
small thumbnail image of it. This data:
- Stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync (see below)
- Is never transmitted to us
- Is deleted if you delete the app, unless it has also been backed up by iCloud or your own device backups
iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud on your device, Mina can mirror your towns between your iPhone and your iPad using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store — a small, private data container tied to your own iCloud account.
- This data is stored in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours.
- We — the developer — have no access to it. It is not readable by us, and it never passes through any server we operate.
- You can turn iCloud off at any time in your device's Settings, and Mina will keep working entirely offline.
Sharing a photo
Mina's camera button lets you share a snapshot of your town using Apple's standard share sheet. This hands the image to whichever destination you choose — Messages, Mail, Photos, or any other app you pick. We are not involved in that step and never see the image.
Device permissions
Mina does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photo library. There is nothing to grant or revoke in Settings on Mina's behalf beyond the optional iCloud toggle described above.
Third parties
Mina does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services. The only outside party involved at all is Apple, through iCloud (optional) and through the App Store itself (purchases, downloads, and update delivery, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy).
Children's privacy
Mina is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the app collects no personal information from any user, it does not collect personal information from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of Mina adds a feature that does involve data collection — this page will be updated and the "Effective" date at the top will change. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
